I had the honor of doing a session with my three very cute nephews Ross, Gage, and Aden. They were real troopers and did such a great job! The camera really loves these guys. We went to several great spots and had a blast. Here are a few of my favorites. I had a hard time narrowing them down to only 12! Thanks guys!

The Boover Family!

I had the privilege of taking pictures at the Boover homstead in Sumrall, MS. The Boover's are a blast and I really had a good time with them. We had to work fast while the light was still good and I think we succeeded in capturing some fun moments.

Easter Pictures of the Carey Kids!

For once I am a little ahead of the craziness that is my life. The kids and I made a mad dash to take some pictures in their new Easter duds that their Grammy got for them. I figure if I can go ahead and get them made now, so much the better! They actually only spent a total of 20 minutes in front of the camera. They were not so much in the mood so I had to snap them as fast as I could.

Max's one year photo shoot

Today the whole family loaded up and headed to the trail to take pictures of Max for his FIRST birthday. Yes, our little guy is turning one on the 13th. I am working on his birthday invitation now and hope to have it ready soon. I will be sure to share when I am done! These were a few of my favorites.

Here I am using my new Eye Candy Child's Play Overlays. These are so fun. I won them by entering a contest at Bloom Workshops forum for their Birthday Bash!

The 5D has arrived!

Not long after I purchased my 20D, a full frame camera came out from Canon, the 5D. I was not able to financially afford that camera at that time. Fast-forward over 4 years later and I was able to find a nice used one from a wonderful lady at www.photo.net in the Classified section.

She offered a fair price and I think this 5D and I are going to be fast friends. The controls are so similiar to my 20D, it feels almost just like it to me. That's great for me, smaller learning curve.

Of course the only subject nearby to try this out on were my kiddos. The first shots I made were of Elise. This was very improptu by our back window. I was stretching it to get some good lighting.

50mm 1/80 f/2 ISO 800 - look at the smoothness of this picture at ISO 800! This kicks the 20D's booty in the noise department! I wish you could see it bigger. Of course there was a little PS doctorin' going on. Cannot live without my actions! I am totally addicted.

I am very pleased so far but I have many more pictures to take and lots more practice. I am very excited. Thanks Vivian!

Oldie but a Goodie

I was looking through some pictures tonight and I came across one I did of Emma when she as a baby. This was one of my first attempts at an "artsy fartsy" picture. Haha. I really do like the look of this picture. It is totally over processed, but that's what I like about it. Her eyes look amazing!

I had the most fun today with Kevin, Cindy, Kelton, Jackson and Lilly. This was such a fun family! Their home was so beautiful and they welcomed me right in. I had some new tricks up my sleeve for pictures with Lilly so I was very excited!

Thanks guys for such a great morning. I truly enjoyed meeting you and being a part of your family today.

After I took pictures of Melanie, I left the backdrop up and moved it into the office where there was beautiful natural light pouring in. We decided to have a very impromptu photo session. Elise was in her PJ's and Emma's hair was not brushed. We did at least change Max out of his PJ's and put him in something more suitable. This session was literally only 15 minutes but we got some great shots in that short amount of time.

The difference in the backdrop color was partly due to the warm sun coming in at times versus the sun behind clouds. It is amazing how different it can change the coloring.

Introducing Melanie Gardner!

My very good friend Ms. Melanie Gardner flattered me by asking for my help in taking some headshots of her. She has several auditions coming up so she needed some updated headshots. We set up in my living room one evening and had a blast as we talked the evening away. I think we got some great shots. She is a tremendous vocal talent. Remember her name, you will hear more of it!

Just about every picture was beautiful but these are three of my favorites.

Back In the Saddle

Well it was time to get back in the saddle and start taking pictures again! I took some time off when Max was born but he is almost 11 months now, so it was time to jump back in. Neil has gone back to school as full time student and will be studying graphic design. He is really excited about his new adventure. The girls love comparing notes when it come to homework!

Emma is now 6 and Elise is 4. Emma was just a few months old when I began taking pictures professionally. It is amazing how time flies!
